Sonesta Select Huntington Beach Fountain Valley Hotel, Fountain Valley

I had a mixed experience at the hotel. While the rooms were dark and felt grungy, they were surprisingly comfortable, though the tiny TVs were a letdown. The staff was real helpful and courteous in their service, earning 5 stars from me, although the hallway noise was a bit bothersome. The location had its ups and downs; the nice separate whirlpool area was a great idea, but I wished for more convenient eating options nearby, especially as I couldn't drive due to surgery. The dining was good overall, prepared quickly, yet lacking variety. The facilities were pleasant but not guaranteed ready on time, and a $75 nonrefundable pet fee was unexpected.
